Your journey towards clarity, peace, and lasting self worth starts here.
Welcome. I’m so pleased you want to find out more about my practice. My name is Julie and I’m a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist with eight years’ experience.
I’m committed to creating with you a safe, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship. Together, we’ll build trust and empathy while being curious and transparent.
My therapeutic approach is designed to be supportive; I will endeavour to provide a space where you can talk openly and start to understand and resolve problems you have identified as troublesome, confusing or distressing.
You may be facing personal challenges such as illness, stress, bereavement, phobia, anxiety, hopelessness, relationship difficulties, or the responsibility of supporting a child or adolescent through tough times. You may have a sense of being stuck or feeling trapped. You might feel alone and desperate and not know why.
Whatever you’re going through and wherever you are on life’s path, you will be heard, respected and valued in our sessions together. We’ll make use of your own innate skills and resources to gain new perspectives on your past experiences and internal dialogue, giving you the freedom to move forward in your life.
About me and my practice
My innate person-centred approach emphasises your capacity for self-healing and personal growth.
I work in a very holistic way, which means that my approach is adapted to my client and how they communicate and what their goals are. This means that I can work creatively, somatically or cognitively.
I have undertaken further training in Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, Creative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Rewind Technique, Guided Imagery and Visualisation and Play Therapy. All these theories complement each other and allow work with the person as a whole.
My approach is based on the understanding that our early attachments and experiences shape our view of ourselves and the world around us.
My Psychodynamic training encourages exploration of how past experiences and unconscious thoughts influence present feelings, behaviours, and relationships. It aims to help individuals gain insight into these patterns, leading to improved emotional regulation and healthier relationships.
The foundations underpinning my work are Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy and will encourage you to join me in that.
‘With a sense of safety and support Julie has always allowed me to be the expert on myself. She guides our conversations so I don’t feel lost, but enables me to take the reins and explore what I really want to confront within my struggles.’
